Abstract

The article contains an analysis and interpretation of La Tène finds from the water catchment area of the Tichá Orlice River. La Tène settlement of this region remained unnoticed for a long time.

It was only recognized thanks to increased archaeologists' interests - a trend which was apparent from the early 1990s onwards, in the form of surface surveys. A picture of La Tène activities in the above area is still being shaped.

Over recent years, it has also been complemented with a number of finds made during metal detector surveys, which enables a more precise identification of chronological aspects. Although the water catchment area of the Tichá Orlice River still seems to be a peripheral region, the growing number of finds and their nature enables us to address questions associated with the importance of the local landscape within the broader context of La Tène settlement.
