Abstract

The article focuses on the dynamics of the views of the Czech publicist and Bulgarist Vladimír Sís (1889-1958) on Macedonia (before 1913 he held the idea of Macedonism or Macedonian autonomy, after 1913 he became convinced of the Bulgarian character of Macedonia) and the complicated Bulgarian-Serbian dispute about this land on the occasion of the translation of his book "Macedonia. Geographic, historical, ethnographic, statistical and cultural study" (in Czech "Makedonie.

Studie zeměpisná, historická, národopisná, statistická i kulturní"; 1914, in fact 1918) into Bulgarian. The Bulgarian version of the book ("Makedoniya.

Geografsko, istorichesko, etnolozhko, statistichesko i kulturolozhko izsledvane") was published in 2019 in Sofia, translated by Vladimir Penchev. The article also briefly outlines Sís's biography and especially the significance of this book in the context of his other work on Bulgaria.
