Corona - God's punishment? No way, states Tomáš Halík offering an interpretation of the pandemic that takes both faith and reason into account. He recognizes a warning in the events of 2020: The empty churches during lockdown could symbolize the near future of the Church itself.
To prevent this from happening it is important to sepparate from everything what doesn't appeal any more: "Even in Christianity something needs to die to be reborn in a tranformed way. This new form is being born these days, we are allowed to witness it and actively take part in this rebirth." The book doesn't make anything appear any better than it its which is precisely why it gives hope.
