Abstract
The editorial explains the origins of the monothematic number of "Dějiny věd a techniky" (History of Science and Technology) Journal. The publication is focused on significant personalities of the history Slavonic studies in the 20th century: Jaroslav Bidlo, Milada Paulová, Josef Macůrek and Henryk Batowski.
