Abstract

Pornography is increasingly becoming part of the public discussions. Part of society perceives it as harmful, part perceives it as positive.

So far, many authors have addressed the topic of pornography consumption and partner sexual activity. However, work on this issue produce contradictory outcomes.

Research are mostly focused on the frequency of sexual activity, sexual satisfaction, sexual communication, intimacy, commitment, infidelity, and sexual experimentation. The results of previous research suggest a positive connection between the consumption of pornography and partner sexual activity when pornography is consumed by partners together.

In cases of solitary consumption, rather negative implications were discovered. Current methodological procedures, and the outputs obtained from them, do not include sufficient and reliable evidence to substantiate the positive or negative consequences of the pornography consumption on various areas of partner sexual activity.
