Skiing in court - Collision of a Czech with an Austrian in Austria

Abstract

Injuries and collisions of skiers tend to have not only unpleasant health consequences, but more and more more often also the legal and financial consequences. Although the increasing number of cases resolved judicially gradually leads to better public awareness and more uniform practice, considerable the risk remains the considerable unpredictability of the court decision.

Serial cases shows how a unified view is only slowly being promoted in the Czech judiciary on binding rules of skiing. In the future, the judgments from abroad.

In the case of foreign courts, ignorance can add to the tricks local rules and the language barrier. The article describes how the courts resolve ski collisions between two foreigners abroad and what the applicable law applies.
