Abstract
The paper will try to compare German Jewish architecture in the two largest centers of interwar Czechoslovakia on specific examples. The main thesis of the study is that there is a direct parallel between architectural production (its quality, diversity, quantity and other features) and the political and social background, which was characteristic of the place - Prague or Brno.
Attention will be paid to the following questions: What was the position of the Jewish architect in Prague and Brno? How was it different? Is it possible to define common features of Jewish architecture for Prague, as they were described in Brno architecture? Is it at all relevant for the case of Prague ("German, Jewish") architecture to pursue a similar direction of research as in Brno?
