DISTANCE EDUCATION IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC - THE FAMILY MIRROR OF EDUCATIONAL INEQUALITIES

Abstract

The pandemic is coming to the Czech Republic at a time when the education system, which has changed profoundly since 1989, is experiencing an increase in inequalities in access to different types of schools linked to the early selection of pupils, especially with the return of high schools welcoming them from the age of eleven. Distance education, the effects of which have been analysed in different types of families, further reveals inequalities during confinement, both in primary school and in secondary education.

However, the research has shown that parents and teachers are bringing parents and teachers closer together, which seems particularly important for children from less-educated families.
