Friedland Volume of Court Tables

Abstract

In the year 1624, the Principality of Friedland under the rule of Albrecht of Valdstejn (Wallenstein) was created in the north-eastern part of the Kingdom of Bohemia. Some manors were then granted as fiefs to Valdstejn's relatives, officers, courtiers and other persons.

The history of these fiefs is not explored minutely until today. So called Friedland volume of Court tables is one of very important and interesting contemporary sources which contains a lot of relevant information about them.

The aim of the paper is to analyse this official book from the formal as well as the subject point of view and to collect some data for future research.
