Publication at Faculty of Science |
2021

Abstract

The article outlines the key changes in keeping of exotic animals in human care (in the zoo) within the context of the development of society. It reflects the transformation from collections focusing on a large number of species without any effort of reproduction, through mastery of breeding to involvement in nature conservation and building long-term viable populations that can ensure the conservation of species.

The text also emphasizes the importance of international cooperation and coordination.
