In this article the author analyzes the use of the imperative forms of the movement verbs jdi - pojď - přijď and jeď- pojeď- přijeď in Czech. From the data of the corpus SYN it is shown that these forms oppose (i) with respect to the dichotomy itive / ventive, but also (ii) to the speaker's implication (comitative / non-comitative).

In non-comitative contexts pojď and přijď also oppose depending on how the request is made, whether it is due to an immediate request or to a deferred invitation. This last opposition, which seems well attested for the verb jít, is much less marked for jet.
