Abstract
Tourism in a sharing economy: Benefits and pitfalls. The aim of the article is to introduce to what extent sharing economy affects the way we travel.
The focus is on the main accommodation platforms of sharing economy, Airbnb and Couchsurfing. Although Couchsurfing is a secondary platform compared to Airbnb, its significance lies in the preservation of the values of sharing economy and in its positive impact on tourism.
