Abstract

The paper occupies with pedagogical aspects of the interaction among coaches and their charges, specifically whether coaches are interested in a non-sport field of life of charges and also in their health. The main goal of the paper was to investigate the approach of coaches to a higher entioned facts.

The further goal was to find out whether the coache's knowledge of their charges differ between team sports and individual sports and also between men and women. As the main research tool, we use a questionnaire from Svoboda (1998) in the rearranged version.

Gained data were processed by using a descriptive statistics, namely crossed tables, correlation analysis and a chi-square test (the test of homogeneity). All data were processed by the statistical programme NCSS (version 6.0.21). 10 The research sample contains 511 active coaches (311 men and 200 women) from 46 sport branches.

Respondents were chosen by an intentional selection and research sample consists from attenders of coaching licence education in UK FTVS. Based on discovered results, we can conclude that bigger differencies in an area of a knowledgeableness about a non-sport field of an athlete's life are between individual and team sports (coaches of individual sports show better knowledge) than between men and women
