Interdisciplinary overlap of special education on the modern music education

Abstract

Modern music education places considerable demands on all participants in the educational process. The aim of the paper is to introduce the professional public to several concepts from special education.

We will deal with the issue of multiple intelligences, dual exceptionality, and above all the growth mindset. Although special education is associated primarily with special educational needs, its scope is also aimed at exceptionally gifted individuals.

We will also acquaint experts in the field of top music education with our GAUK project. In the discussion, we will outline the possibilities by which special education could enrich modern music education.
