Abstract
The aim of the article is to give a basic overview of the field as an introduction to a special issue dedicated to law of the journal Studia turistica. A similar approach was taken also in the issues 1/2018, 1/2019 and 1/2020 of this journal.
Legal regulation of tourism is particularly complicated, in addition it is currently undergoing a fundamental transformation, and this instability is often mentioned as one of the key problems of the tourism in the Czech Republic. There is no code governing tourism as a whole.
The regulation of tourism overlaps mainly with commercial, civil and administrative law and it is significantly influenced by the European Union law. The article deals with various elements of tourism regulation, their legal status in 2020 and influence of coronavirus pandemic.
