The main goal of the paper is to identify Slovak translation variants of the English term "digital humanities" and then summarize the translation strategies that are implemented using translation variants. In many non-English speaking countries, it is common to use the original English term "digital humanities" or its abbreviation DH.

There is a debate in these countries on how to translate this neologism (and whether to translate it at all), and it is considered necessary to open the debate in the national academic environment as well. Problematic in the discussion is the discrepancy between the effort to systematically develop specific national terminology and the difficulties with accurate and accurate translation of the term.

This discrepancy is reflected in the environment of national terminology with the intention to strictly translate "digital humanities" into Slovak (most often as "digital humanities") and the opposite tendency to keep this term in the original English version. It is believed that mapping existing Slovak translations of the term and explaining the arguments that may support their use can help to open and productively lead a translational discussion.
