Abstract

The aim of the pilot study and was to find out the influence of using 3D models and animations on students of 8th and 9th grade of elementary school. The pilot study took place in 2019 and overall 66 students participated in it.

The following research tools were used: Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) and Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI). The results of the statistic outcomes show that using 3D models and animations in teaching process led to a significant increase in students' intrinsic motivation in Chemistry and Biology with overall effect size Cohen's d= 1.37.

The largest effect was found in the increased interest in the topic of the lessons.
