What Constitutes Politics and How Does One Study It? The Political Science of Giovanni Sartori

Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |

Abstract

This book analyzes Sartori's lifelong scientific work with an emphasis on the controversy that is so present in it, which, however, has always resulted in something new. It presents all of Sartori's main theories and concepts, which were very often the result of his dissatisfaction with the existing state of knowledge and arose from efforts to find a remedy for the state of affairs.

This applies not only to the relevant thematic areas, which are a traditional and important part of political science research or, more broadly, to the social sciences and humanities, but also to political science as such, as a whole scientific discipline.
