The purpose of the article "Translation of Portuguese and Brazilian Literatures into Czech (1898-1948)" is to underline the importance of the first steps in the field of translation from Portuguese and Brazilian literatures into the Czech language. It presents the list of translations and briefly describes some exemplary cases.

The present information also contributes to the history of Czech-Portuguese and Czech-Brazilian relations.
