Returnd Volhynian Czechs after World War (1945 - 1947)

Abstract

After World War II a few thousands of Volhynian Czechs returned to Czechoslovakia as member of the 1st Czechoslova Army corps. Then under a contract with the USSR in 1947, the largest group of about 33 000 expatriates returned back to their homeland.

They passed their way back on the train transport. After the arrival, in particular, they began to settle the borderlands.

The Volhynian Czechs had to face other issues, such as the transition local education. They founded journals The Faithful Guard a The Union of the Czechs of Volhynia.
