In the case of rectified orthograph, the foreign words integer as much as possible into the French orthograph and, when two orthographs coexist, we opt for the more French. These elements of francization affecting in particular borrowings from English, for the purposes of our study, can be classified into four categories (cf.

Biedermann-Pasques & Humbley, 1995). Firstly, it concerns the use of the adequate French grapheme for lexies of type gg / gu (tagger/taguer) and secondly of the francization of their suffix of English origin on the French model, type tagger/taggueur and the feminine tagueuse, involving on the one hand the graphic adaptation of the masculine and the feminine and on the other hand the change of their pronunciation.

Third, we distinguish francization by alignment with French graphic models according to the approximation of pronunciation: bug/bogue. Finally, we add an accent when necessary, such as: top model/top modèle.

The objective of this article is to present the four categories of francization of borrowings from English on the example of the practice of French of France and Quebec French in applications of lexicographic data and corpus linguistics tools.
