Abstract
The publication does not aim to briefly and clearly describe the course of historical events in the territory of the Czech Republic, it rather seeks to attract individual topics and periods. Such a conception corresponds to the current state of historical research.
The authors try to analyze those chapters of the history of the Czech lands, which regarded as relevant and important, and therefore prefer more looser essayist concept. The starting point of the book is not the concept of "National History", that is, some stories.
The history of the Czech lands is seen as a history of variable territory incorporated into natural Central European and European contexts (geographic, thematic and methodological).
