Abstract

Practical guides on how to deal with newly arrived immigrant students in Czech schools are rare. One exception is Mrs.

Rohová's "New Immigrant In My Class" workbook aiming to support the initial school integration of newly arrived immigrant students in primary schools. In this book review, I shortly communicate the book's primary intention, reflecting on observations from Mrs.

Rohová's classes. In line with Krane's synthesis (Krane, 2016), the teacher's intention to socially integrate newly arrived immigrant students positively affirmed the immigrant student's educational self-picture.

Mrs. Rohová's workbook is a rich reservoir of such positive affirmations.
