Abstract

This note is a response to a letter entitled,National Propensities? " by David Mills and Kirsten Bell that comments on our article on "Predatory publishing in Scopus: evidence on cross-country differences". We welcome their interest in our work but we do not find most of their opinions to be productive.

In this response, we answer their criticism, clarify some methodological issues and argue that their comments do not significantly alter interpretation of our results.
