Abstract

Pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporarily associated with SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS) is a severe acute childhood disease that typically manifests 4-6 weeks after exposure to the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS). CoV-2.

Its essence is a systemic inflammation affecting mainly the cardiovascular system, but it can develop into multiorgan failure. In the Czech Republic, a higher incidence of PIMS-TS has been recorded since mid-November 2020, two weeks after the peak of the second wave of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic.

Although the spectrum of manifestations and severity is broad, unrecognized or inadequately treated disease is associated with relatively high mortality and morbidity.
