Abstract

In connection with the current high increase in COVID-19 patients admitted to hospitalizations and the resulting extreme burden on the acute inpatient care system, including intensive and resuscitation care, the ČSARIM Committee formulates the following opinion: 1. The functional capacity of most acute inpatient health care facilities fulfilled, 2.

The current real situation of providing acute inpatient care fulfills in most hospitals the characteristic of the state of "lack of scarce resources"; 3. We recommend that a provider of health services for which staff or technical capacities are actually exhausted report the existence of this situation to the locally competent regional authority (including the justification of this fact), which issued a decision to grant authorization to provide health services. according to the rules of science and recognized medical procedures, while respecting the individuality of the patient, it is determined by a realistic assumption of clinical benefit.
