Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic last year surprised the whole world and affected individuals regardless of age and social structure. At present, we already have a notion about how households and various industries were affected by it.

However, there is a specific population that is in the Czech Republic, but also in the world, neglected by the research point of view: university students. This is despite the fact that it is precisely university students who are losing the opportunity to become independent, travel, make valuable contacts and who have already been exposed to high stress in the period before the pandemic.

In our paper, we will reflect the results of research on the lives of university students during a pandemic in an international context. The research is the result of cooperation between the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University and based on the international research initiative C-19 ISWS, which focuses on university students and how the pandemic and coronavirus affect them.
