The Hippocratic Oath and Euthanasia

Abstract

The study discusses the relevance of the Hippocratic Oath for the actual debate on euthanasia. The prohibition of causing death to a patient is presented in the context of the Oath and of the Hippocratic collection as a whole, as well as in the relationship to the practice of that time.

This is an extended version of an article published in the previous volume devoted to the topic.
