Abstract
The review article is a theoretical research based on a study and analysis of available professional publications in printed and electronic form. The aim of this article is to find and connect theoretical aspects and specifics of midwife practice, which can be crucial in providing nursing care for a woman with different sociocultural background.
Selected theoretical aspects associated with the transcultural nursing care were connected and applied in the field of midwery. The research strategy based on literature sources provided focus on the Partnership model concept which was unpublished in Czech translation until now.
These concept seems to be an effective tool for identifying individual peculiarities with the benefit of focusing on the cultural differences of the each woman's uniqe needs. To understand the current state of the issue, a short historical excursion is attached to selected chapters.
