Abstract

Confrontation with the coronavirus pandemic provide better motivation and opportunities to quit smoking. Some aspects such as loneliness, boredom, lack of finances and related stress may lead to increased rates of smoking.

The health care system should use the situation for a population campaign and actively promote effective forms of treatment of tobacco dependence.
