After the proclamation of independence: Belarusian parliamentary republic (1991-1994)

Abstract

Chapter je devoted to the first years of existence of the newly emerged Republic of Belarus (1991-1994). The chapter analyzes economic and political crisis related to the previous collapse of the Soviet system (inflation and so on).

The chapter also sheds light on the struggle between old and new political parties and elites.
