Abstract

The aim of the research is to present our research intention - to design a tool for special pedagogues that would detect visual defects in children with cognitive disorders, especially at the level of the visual system. This tool would help to detect children, with an indication for a complete eye and orthoptic examination.

At the same time, its reliability and use in the practice of special teachers would be evaluated. In the article we will briefly summarize the current state of the issue.

The chosen research design will be mixed. We will use a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

The main benefit is the design of a tool for special educators, which in the care of children with cognitive disorders will help to improve interdisciplinary cooperation, streamline the problematic diagnostic process and thus their reeducation, which will make it easier for these children to acquire basic skills.
