Abstract
The current textbook will assist the students of the Faculty of Law and the wider public in obtaining a basic understanding ot the Convention system. It is divided into sixteen Chapters.
The first two chapters explain the functioning of the Court within the system in the protection of human rights in Europe. Chapter III is focused on the admissibility of complaints lodged with the Court.
Chapters IV-IX provide an overview of the rights set forth in the Convention. Chapter X examines the position of legal persons in the proceedings before the Court.
The activities of the Venice Commission, the Torture Prevention Committee and their relationship to the Court is described in Chapters XI and XII of the book. Chapter XIII reflects the position of the Czech Government in relation to the Court.
The last chapter explores the execution of the judgments of the Court and the work of the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.
