Improving postoperative neurocognitive recovery: is flow the key?

Abstract

This article is an editorial to the publication "Comparison of arterial blood pressure and cardiac index-based hemodynamic management on cognitive function in elderly patients undergoing spinal surgery: a randomized clinical trial." written by Saka et al., which demonstrated better neurocognitive outcome after spine surgery with cardiac output targeted hemodynamic optimization during anaesthesia.
