Mature, optimal and harmonious personality through the lens of personality integration and integrity

Publication at Central Library of Charles University |
2019

Abstract

The authors discuss terms denoting matured, optimal and harmonious personality in terms of their relation to the integrity and personality integration. They also consider the relationship between normality, the concept of personality and integrity/integration.

Integration is understood as the focus on the internal processes of the individual, whereas integrity is focused more on external and observable processes. Mature personality is seen as a goal that can be achieved through ontogeny, while the optimal and harmonious personality is rather an unachievable goal that is linked to the concept of character and virtue.
