Abstract

Online lecture at the international gerontological interdisciplinary conference Ageing 2021. In her PhD thesis, Judita Matyášová is investigating intergenerational relations between the oldest and youngest generations in the Czech Republic, but she is also researching the senior community in Denmark.

She has been travelling regularly to Denmark since 2010 and moved to the Scandinavian country last year to research the senior community. The lecture will include excerpts from interviews that the PhD student recorded with representatives of the government, non-profit organizations and senior associations in various Danish regions.

The speaker will also present an analysis of Danish senior magazines that present the activities of the oldest generation and explain why Danes perceive seniors as the most active part of the local society.
