Abstract

The article briefly summarizes relevant information obout sports training of cross country skiers in the Czech Republic (CR) and Norway (NO). The aim of the research was to obtain information about sports preparation of Norwegian cross country skiers and their comparison with the preparation of cross country skiers in the CR. we deal with the possibility of applying the Norwegian training methodics into the CR training system in relation to local conditions.

Research methods which were used, are content analysis of documents, observation and survey. The results show, that there were nosignificant differences in terms of annual training cycly, but differ mainly in organization and in approach of sports preparation.

Norwegian youth teams are more based on volunteeres, where is minimal government support and parents are therefore even more involved. despite the problems with the financing of sport in the CR we can still talk about government support of crosscountry skiing teams with the status of the Sports center (SpS) or the youth sports center (SCM) due to paid head coaches in these centers. From sports training perspective, based on the observed data, we assume that in the CR system opposite to NO occurs early specialization and sports training is less varied and more centralized.
