Abstract
The map on the topic of political decision-making is focused on the possibilities of citizens' participation in local governance, as well as on the issue of local democracy. The first map shows local referendums in the Czech Republic, the second voter turnout in parliamentary elections in selected Central European countries, and the last map shows the assessment of local democracy in EU countries.
The aim is to acquaint students with the differences in public administration systems (and local democracy) in Europe and to show how they can be involved in the political decision-making process. The analysis showed that some elements of direct democracy apply in local governance in the Czech Republic, such as local referendums on issues of local (regional) development.
