Democracy in Contemporary Latin America: To the Left, or to the Right?

Abstract

The chapter analyzes the recent development of democracies in Latin America in comparison with the rest of the world. It further develops author's previous thesis in the context of current situation in the region.

It emphasisez the the relations between political right and left and the growing military influence.
