Abstract

Martin Valenta asks in his study whether the Bauhaus School of German Arts and Crafts could be considered as a part of the reform pedagogy movement of its time, and if so then how it differed or diverged from the others. The answers to these questions are reached by comparison of the theoretical concepts and their practical usage of three main personalities of Bauhaus on one hand (Walter Gropius, Johannes Itten, László Moholy-Nagy) with free important representatives of the reform pedagogy on the other hand (Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Georg Kerschensteiner).
