Abstract
The present publication presents a current synthesis of insurance law in the Czech Republic. It deals with both private law aspects and relevant public law contexts.
It provides an overview - not exhaustive - of insurance modalities in their recent development in terms of the Czech legal system in the light of relevant European Union (EU) legislation. The insurance issue has undergone a very dynamic devel- opment, the insurance contract has been integrated into the Civil Code and submit- ted to the new private law dominated by the Civil Code of 2012.
The publication also provides insights into current and previous case law on insurance issues. We believe that it will provide foreign readers with the necessary basis for easier ori- entation in all regulations and rules of insurance law in the Czech Republic.
