Russian Mission School in Alaska: an example of good practice in place based lducation

Abstract

More than 25 years ago, a Russian mission school in Alaska incorporated place-based education into its curriculum. The results of the combined research, which was carried out by local didactics and published in a scientific article, were presented at a conference on Locally Grounded Learning, which was attended by about 90 pedagogical staff, mostly from primary schools.
