Abstract

The book traces the impact of human activities related to agriculture, forestry, fishing and wildlife hunting on individual ecosystems. It is based on general ecological principles and shows how they are applied to the above-mentioned fields of human activity, with regard to the basic mechanisms of their action, but also natural and social drivers and the global aspect of their impacts.

The text of the chapters is formulated from a historical and geographical point of view and supplemented by a rich pictorial accompaniment. This exceptional publication is intended for the general professional public as well as for students of biological and agricultural disciplines with an interest in environmental issues.
