Abstrakt
This presentation introduces the subject matter of my interdisciplinary doctoral project, a comparative investigation of Bavaria Slavica and Western Bohemia in the early Middle Ages based on toponomastic and archaeological data. It outlines the problem of Slavic origins and what specifically toponomastics has to offer in addressing it.
It then proceeds to concrete examples of the difficulties and gains to be made in such an endeavour.
