The paper is devoted to the issue of damage in Czech criminal law with a focus on the analysis of the historical development of the defined damage amount (including economic analysis) and the consequences damage amount on criminal repression. This topic requires constant attention, as criminal law in this area is not entirely perfect.
The absence of a definition of damage as well as the influence of the damage amount on criminal repression with regard to economic and political development are considered to be key problems to be solved. Secondary attention is contributed to the topic of damage development in the criminal law of the Slovak Republic, as it came from the same basis as Czech criminal law in the post velvet revolution period.
