Abstract
Dental caries is multifactorial, infectious disease caused by well-known factors and manifesting by well diagnosed symptoms. Caries preventive management includes individual preventive strategies, provided by patients (children, parents) and professional preventive strategies, provided by dental professionals.
Individual caries preventive management consists from regular and effective plaque removal, low cariogenic diet, application of fluorides and preventive education of the population. Dental professionals should perform regular preventive check-ups, evaluation of caries risk, topical fluoride application, fissure sealing, treatment of initial caries lesions and oral care education.
