Abstract
The aim of the following article is to contribute to the description of the dialect phraseology of the South Carpathian dialects by publication and classification of animal similes from archive materials. The source of the extracted phrasal material was the Lexical Database of the South Carpathian dialects on I.
Pankevychʼs materials, which had been created in the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the Czech Academy of Sciences. More than 200 animal similes are represented in the article.
