Abstract
After an introductory section, which focuses on the brief development of ethnic Czechoslovak life in Latin American countries, the article analyzes the factors of preservation and transmission of the Czech language in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires, different types of environments in which the oldest Czech speakers had the opportunity to use their inherited language.
