Early child's vocabulary and its development

Abstract

The article introduces the results of the research analysing development of vocabulary in one Czech monolingual boy from onset of speech till age of 3 years. Various aspects were analysed, e. g. speed of acquisition of lexemes, i. e. number of lexemes acquired in one month period, relation of vocabulary and grammar.

Percentage of parts of speech and their semantics is analysed. Based on the results, sevaral didactic suggestions concerning pre-primary education are presented.
