We describe the case of patient who suffered from typical symptoms of roseola syphilitica but which were evaluated as a toxoallergie reaction to an unknown substance. The entrance rash had the character of an itchy, symmetrical disseminated maculas on the trunk.
In addition, the patientś partners did not seek medical attention. Clinical diagnosis of syphilis can sometimes be difficult, "everything can be confused with lues", hence the disease is called "simmia morborum".
For this reason, we consider in important to recall this disease, especially in the outpatient clinics of general practitioners or other specialists.
